Housing Application Procedure

Oaklee Housing Trust does not have its own application form for re-housing and we do not hold waiting lists for properties. The Trust only accepts nominations for vacancies from the local council.

If you wish to apply for rehousing in one of our properties you should make an application to the local council in your area of preference. The Council will process your application and advise you if you are eligible to join the waiting list.(each council has different application criteria) If you are already on the council’s waiting lists you should advise the council that you wish to be considered for our accommodation. Applicants from outside the Republic of Ireland should also make an application to the local council. For list of our properties please click here.

Internal Transfers

If you are an Oaklee Housing Trust tenant, you may apply for a transfer to a different Oaklee Housing Trust property. Under normal circumstances you should have held a tenancy for two years at your existing property. Under certain circumstances this two-year restriction can be waived, where in the Trust’s view the current accommodation is completely unsuitable for your needs.

Transfer application forms are available from Oaklee Services Centre. You should complete this form, outlining the reasons why you wish to transfer and specifying where you wish to be rehoused. This form should be returned to Oaklee Housing Trust along with any documentary evidence which supports your request for a transfer.

The application form will be registered and acknowledged within 10 working days and arrangements will be made to carry out the assessment visit with 4 weeks.

Transfer Application Procedure - Outside Oaklee Housing Trust

If you are an Oaklee Housing Trust tenant you may apply for a transfer to a different social housing landlord. Under normal circumstances you should have held a tenancy for two years with the Trust at your existing property. Under certain circumstances this two-year restriction may be waived, where in the Trust’s view the current accommodation is completely unsuitable for your needs.
